Cultural property of national significance
Links to the registers of cultural property of national significance maintained by the Länder can be found below. They contain entries made pursuant to the German Act to Prevent the Exodus of German Cultural Property (Gesetz zum Schutz deutschen Kulturgutes gegen Abwanderung, KultgSchG) as amended by the Act of 18 May 2007 and the German Act on the Protection of Cultural Property (Kulturgutschutzgesetz, KGSG) of 31 July 2016, which replaced the 2007 Act.
The terminological distinction between archival records and cultural property that previously applied was abolished upon the entry into force of the Act on the Protection of Cultural Property. Following a transitional period which ended on 1 August 2017, archival records have also been entered in the registers of cultural property of national significance maintained by the Länder.
